قصيدة First Love
I ne’er was struck before that hour
,With love so sudden and so sweet
Her face it bloomed like a sweet flower
.And stole my heart away complete
I ne’er was struck before that hour
,With love so sudden and so sweet
Her face it bloomed like a sweet flower
.And stole my heart away complete
,I loved thee, though I told thee not
,Right earlily and long
,Thou wert my joy in every spot
.My theme in every song
;Thou Winter, thou art keen, intensely keen
,Thy cutting frowns experience bids me know
,For in thy weather days and days I’ve been
,As grinning north-winds horribly did blow
-Today as we flew the kites
the sand spinning off in ribbons along the beach
and that gasoline smell from Leuchars gusting across
;the golf links
She died in the upstairs bedroom
By the light of the ev’ning star
That shone through the plate glass window
From over Leamington Spa
,There’s one rides very sagely on the road
.Showing that he affects the gravest mode
,Another rides tantivy, or full trot
.To show much gravity he matters not
,Up the ash tree climbs the ivy
,Up the ivy climbs the sun
,With a twenty-thousand pattering
,Has a valley breeze begun
In the licorice fields at Pontefract
My love and I did meet
And many a burdened licorice bush
;Was blooming round our feet
,It’s awf’lly bad luck on Diana
;Her ponies have swallowed their bits
She fished down their throats with a spanner
.And frightened them all into fits
!Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough
,It isn’t fit for humans now
.There isn’t grass to graze a cow
!Swarm over, Death
